What services does Mosaic provide?
Mosaic Gardens designs and builds exceptional gardens. We are a fully licensed landscape contractor (OLCB #8508), and we construct all aspects of our projects, including planting, irrigation, stonework and other hardscape.
For advice or standalone design, another designer would be a better fit. For planting consultation, we highly recommend Roger Gossler of Gossler Farms Nursery.

What is Mosaic’s process?

We begin with an initial on-site consultation, in which we walk through the site together and discuss your project in detail. An on-site consultation in or near Eugene is $150.
Shortly after the consultation, we present an estimate for design. In the design process, we continue our discussions with the goal of creating a landscape plan that reflects your style and goals while being tuned to the character of your site. Our plans are scaled, top-down drawings that show the outlines of the new garden, but lack final construction details, such as plant choices or elevation plans. As a design/build company, we find that finalizing those details during construction when we have a nuanced sense of your site’s soil, light conditions, etc. creates the smoothest process and best product.
When we present the landscape plan, we also present a construction estimate. We may be able to present ballpark estimates earlier in the project, or even prior to design, depending on complexity and other factors. If and when you are happy with the design and estimate, we will add your project to our construction schedule.
Does Mosaic build projects in phases?
Yes, many of our projects tackle one “space” at a time. On an urban lot, this might mean building the front yard one year, the back yard the next. Larger projects may be broken into more phases.
How much will my garden cost?
Speaking very broadly, our landscape construction budgets range from $30,000 to well over $100,000. Once we have dimensions of the space and information about your goals, we may be able to offer a preliminary “ballpark” range of cost for your project. Design is a separate fee, usually between $2000 and $5000, depending on scope and complexity.
I live outside of the Eugene/Springfield area. Does Mosaic work in my area?
Due to existing commitments, including maintaining the (relative) sanity of our team, our range is currently limited to projects within a 40 minute drive of Eugene.
